چکیده

introduction. the basic science exam is conducted, two times each year and, success in this exams is an essential condition for medical students to continue their education in medicine. this descriptive research was designed to study the relationship between some variables, including age, sex, place of stay, conditional history and results of basic science exams. methods. this study was implemented on shahed medical faculty students, who participated in the 11th period of basic science exams (period 12-22), and after collecting the data both demographic information and their konkur’s resulst in each course, data were analyzed by correlation test t-test and chi-square test. results. there was a significant relationship between success in basic science exams and conditional history (p<0.05). but there wasn’t any significant relationship between success and age of the students when they started university, season of exams (september or march), place of stay and sex(p>0.05). also there was a significant relationship between success in basic science exams and result of some courses in konkur including : foreign language mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry. conclusion. konkur results and conditional history are effective on success of students in basic science exams, then more study and research will be recommended.
